First we need to get in touch. Next we will find the right school. After that we will do the application.
This normally works very fast and I get the answer within a week.
No. The school will have to prepare a document called I-20 first. After that we will guide you through the process.
Preparation
All agencies are required to talk about rules and regulations. We will do that too.
It is very important for us to learn about the student. This helps us find the right host family. We also think it is important that students are prepared for this adventure, because living in another family is always different.
You do not find a host family. We find the host family for your child. That is one reason we put a lot of effort into preparation, because we want to know your child and find the best host family.
I am very picky with my host families. I always ask myself if I would place one of my own kids in that family. I do not only visit them once, I visit them multiple times. They also get the same preparation as you and your student will get.
That will always happen because our family and everybody is different. You do not send your child to another country to have the same conditions as at home. They will learn to live with other people, understand different opinions and beliefs, and grow with it.
We are all humans and even nice people sometimes cannot live together. We can try. If it does not work out, we will find another solution. This is something I also tell my families.
This is a critical point and we learned our lessons. You will have time before your child comes to get in contact with the host family, but it’s not your family, it’s your child’s family. Do not try to organize everything for your child. If there are problems, talk to us and we will solve them.

Parents back home communication
You need to do what you need to do: support your child. We will prepare you as well as we prepare your child.
SIDO School stays in direct contact with the parents at home. We will have a video call at the end of each month, and you can also contact us in any kind of emergency. We understand that sometimes an “emergency” is simply wanting to hear that everything is fine.
Problems can happen and we are used to this. We see problems very early and we will talk to you and your child directly. This helps avoid big problems.
Every child is different. In a different environment, people behave different. It needs time to adjust. However, none of my students ever went home early because they were homesick or found themselves in circumstances they could not live in.
Emergencies
This is something we do not hope to happen, but if an emergency happens, we will stay in close contact with you.
For students, we have a 24/7 emergency number. It does not matter what kind of emergency, we will help. Parents can call the same number 24/7 and we will also listen and find a solution.
